HOW IT ALL STARTED

Jalie, located in Saint-Romuald, Canada(a small town near Quebec City), was founded in 1983 by Jeanne Binet. She started sewing for friends and neighbors during her teenage years and, through the encouragement of her loved-ones, she founded the company and started selling her first sewing patterns through local fabric stores.

The company has expanded ever since and we are proud that Jalie patterns are now available all over the world. Our secret? Fashion forward and easy to sew designs. all our patterns are printed on heavy paper and the best part is, each pattern comes in 32 sizes ranging from child to adult. Buy one pattern and use it for your entire family!

A WORD FROM OUR PRESIDENT

My goal since 1983 when Jalie was first created, was to transmit to you this love that I have for sewing. Looking back, I realize that my mother played a very important role in helping me to discover my talent. Many hours were spent watching her repair, cut, adjust and assemble the clothes she made for our family of ten children.

The entrepreneurship spirit of the people from the Beauce region of Quebec, where I was born, has much to do with the sucess of Jalie, a business which is the only one of its kind in Canada.

OUR PATTERNS

You probably wonder how Jalie patterns are different from other patterns. We have created this section in order for you to see what is inside a pattern before to purchase it.

Inside the pattern

All our patterns are printed on high-quality paper and accommodate a very large range of sizes and body shapes, making it easy to custom-size your project. All sizes are included in the same pattern, what makes it very economical.

Instructions in English and French (in Spanish and German too on some patterns) are printed on the pattern. We also provide detailed illustrations to guide you through each and every step.
